With the world reeling from socities in turmoil and another mass shooting, this time in NZ, religiously motivated, we hear with new ears the anguish in the Jesus’s lament in Luke 13:34, “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills prophets, how I have longed to gather you together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings.”
