
Our Rector is The Reverend Tom Adamson. He is happily married to his wife Elizabeth. They have two daughters ages 24 & 10 and two sons ages 22 & 17 He serves Holy Family full time, but is also active in the life of the community of Angola, especially arts and music, for which he has a passion. One will often spot Father Tom on his bicycle or in the pool of the Steuben County YMCA.
Fr. Tom is a chaplain at Cameron Memorial Community Hospital in downtown Angola.
In the community, he serves as a board member for Cahoots Coffee Cafe (an ecumenical, multi-faceted ministry to the youth and families of Steuben County), the board of the Faith Community Health Clinic, and the board of the Pleasant Lake Lions Club.
Fr. Tom is also a life-long singer/songwriter and is an independent recording artist. In 2022 he launched a music podcast called A Song and A Friend.
He is the music director and production editor for the Dove Faith Cafe, a project that curates and shares faith stories.
The Adamson family enjoys outdoor activities as a family: sports, camping, hiking, and gardening.
Before being directed to Holy Family by our Bishop, Douglas Sparks of the Diocese of Northern Indiana in June of 2017, “Father Tom” studied for the priesthood at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. While at Sewanee he won his senior class award for “Excellence in Practical Theology” in May of 2017. As a seminarian, and Deacon, he served St. Agnes’ Anglican Episcopal Church in Cowan Tennessee, part of the Diocese of Tennessee, from 2015 to 2017.
Early & Other Careers
Before seminary, he served as Director of Christian Education for St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Valparaiso, Indiana, from 2009 to 2014. He also served the Diocese of Northern Indiana in several capacities including Lay Spiritual Director for the Senior High Summer Camp (2012-2014), counselor or musician for other summer camps, and Lay Pastoral Mission Leader for St. Peter’s, Rensselaer, Indiana. (2012-2014)
Fr. Tom studied music education, writing, and fine arts at Indiana Wesleyan University. He taught music at various schools and privately in and around Northwest Indiana during the first 15 years of this century. At that time he played in numerous rock bands and a few regional symphony orchestras. He was a successful middle school track and field coach as well.
